Gordon scores first Barcelona goal as Bayern stumble and Spence debuts for Inter
Gordon strikes early as Barcelona cruise
Anthony Gordon scored his first goal for Barcelona just two minutes into a 3-0 home victory over Getafe, capping a promising start to life at the club. The former Newcastle winger and fellow summer arrival Karim Adeyemi have helped shoulder the attacking workload alongside Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

Coach Hansi Flick praised Gordon’s contribution beyond the goal, saying: “He gives us a lot. He has speed, moves well with the ball, all the dribbling he has. He is always dangerous and creates chances.”
Elsewhere in Spain, Real Madrid edged Villarreal 1-0, with Yan Diomande scoring the winner. Vinicius Junior was sent off after appearing to pull Nathan Saliba’s hair during the move in which he thought he had scored. Rayo Vallecano’s match against Athletic Club was abandoned amid a protest by home supporters over the condition of their stadium and a dispute with the club’s ownership.
Neuer errors cost Bayern as Freiburg go top
Bayern Munich were held to a 2-2 draw by Augsburg after goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was dispossessed by Robin Fellhauer for the fastest goal in Bundesliga history, scored after eight seconds. Neuer was also judged at fault for Augsburg’s second goal. Bayern fought back, with Harry Kane setting up both goals, but dropped points.
Borussia Dortmund also let a lead slip, conceding a stoppage-time equaliser to Werder Bremen in a 2-2 draw. Those results left Freiburg top of the table. Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick scored in a fifth consecutive league match, while Christopher Nkunku hit a hat-trick for RB Leipzig in their 6-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Spence makes Inter bow as Lazio keep pace
Djed Spence made his Inter debut as a second-half substitute in a 3-0 win over Parma. Inter manager Cristian Chivu urged patience, noting that Spence had trained with the team for only a week. “Let us enjoy his first 25 minutes,” Chivu said, adding that San Siro’s reception had given the player “a shot of adrenaline.”
Lazio continued their impressive start with a 3-1 victory at Monza, keeping them among Inter’s closest challengers. Nuno Tavares scored a spectacular goal in the win. Napoli defeated Frosinone 3-0, with Kevin De Bruyne scoring twice, while Scott McTominay returned as a substitute after minor heart surgery. Roma and Como drew 0-0, preserving both clubs’ unbeaten records.
PSG close in after Monaco drop points
Monaco surrendered a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw at home to Toulouse, giving Paris Saint-Germain an opportunity to close the gap. PSG beat Le Mans 3-1, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia coming off the bench to score the winner. Cameron Archer scored for Auxerre for a fourth consecutive game, but his side lost 4-1 to Rennes.
