Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Spain international forward Ferran Torres from Barcelona in a transfer worth €50 million. The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract that ties him to the Parc des Princes until 2031.

Torres, who scored Spain's extra-time winner against Argentina in the World Cup final in New Jersey earlier this summer, will wear the number nine shirt for Luis Enrique's side. The move brings an end to his four-and-a-half-year spell in Catalonia following his January 2022 arrival from Manchester City.

Reunion with Luis Enrique

The transfer reunites Torres with former Spain manager Luis Enrique, a connection the forward hailed as decisive in his choice to move to the reigning European champions.

"This is the ideal club to win my first Champions League," Torres said. "Luis Enrique is like a father figure to me in football. When I had the opportunity to train with him, with the national team, he always placed great trust in me. He’s truly a coach who knows how to get the most out of your potential... We’re going to win all the titles together."

Speaking to PSG's official website, Torres added: "I'm delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain. I'd like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique for giving me the opportunity to join the team, which I hope to help win as many trophies as possible."

Torres' Barcelona Record and Squad Overhaul

During his tenure at Camp Nou, Torres scored 65 goals in 207 appearances, helping the club secure three La Liga titles and a Copa del Rey triumph. However, 94 of those appearances came as a substitute amid intense competition from the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and the rise of teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona acknowledged the departure in an official statement: "FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ferran Torres to the French club. FC Barcelona would like to express its gratitude to Ferran Torres for his dedication throughout the four and a half seasons in which he has defended the Barça shirt and wishes him the best of luck in this new stage of his professional career."

Torres represents PSG's fourth arrival of the current transfer window, following deals for Maghnes Akliouche, Lucas Digne, and Khalil Ayari, with forward Bradley Barcola potentially departing amid interest from Liverpool.

Barcelona Reshuffle Attack Under Flick

Torres' exit marks another major shift in Hansi Flick's forward line. Barcelona have also seen Robert Lewandowski depart for MLS side Chicago Fire and chose not to make Marcus Rashford's loan move from Manchester United permanent—losing an attacking trio that combined for 54 goals last season.

To offset the departures, Barcelona have brought in Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi. The Catalan club are also pursuing further reinforcements, monitoring Sporting striker Luis Suarez should a move for primary target Julian Alvarez fail to materialize with Atletico Madrid, while continuing to track Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
