Gordon and Kane fire England past 10-man Czechia in Nations League win
Second-half goals from Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane propelled England to a commanding 2-0 Nations League victory over 10-man Czechia, getting Thomas Tuchel’s side back on track following their weekend defeat to Spain.

Early Tension and a Turning Point Red Card
Entering the match under pressure after losing to Spain at Wembley, England faced a tricky test in Prague against a newly revitalised Czechia side under manager Santi Denia. Tuchel made several bold tactical adjustments, opting to leave Jude Bellingham on the bench and handing a surprise start to Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back among an untested defensive unit featuring Trevoh Chalobah and Lewis Hall.
Czechia started brightly and created early chances, with Lukas Cerv flashing a volley just wide and Pavel Sulc threatening behind England's backline. England responded when Morgan Rogers struck the inside of the post following a sharp pass from Myles Lewis-Skelly and Anthony Gordon.
The complexion of the encounter shifted decisively in the 23rd minute. Sulc lunged into an aggressive challenge on Elliot Anderson. Referee Umut Meler initially issued a yellow card before being summoned to the pitchside monitor by VAR, subsequently upgrading the punishment to a straight red card.
Alexander-Arnold and Gordon Unlock the Defence
England reshuffled at the interval, with Tuchel introducing Eberechi Eze for Lewis-Skelly to avoid any further disciplinary risks and switching to a 4-1-4-1 formation. The breakthrough came almost immediately after the restart.
Alexander-Arnold recovered possession on the right flank and delivered a trademark whipped delivery into the penalty area, allowing Gordon to guide home a clinical header.
Kane Seals Points and First Clean Sheet
England controlled proceedings from that moment on. Left-back Lewis Hall went close with a drive that whistled past the post, before Ladislav Krejci inadvertently diverted a dangerous cross against his own woodwork.
Harry Kane doubled the lead with his 87th international goal, reacting quickest inside the box to fire past Matej Kovar after Rogers drove into the area. Kovar pulled off a brilliant stop to prevent Eze from adding a third, while Tuchel handed minutes to debuts and young talents including Alex Scott and Rio Ngumoha.
The victory delivered England's first clean sheet in seven matches after conceding 13 goals across their prior six outings, setting them up positively ahead of their upcoming trip to Croatia.
