Barcelona sprint to the finish: Alvarez chase, more signings and a wave of exits before deadline day
Time is ticking in the summer transfer window and La Liga clubs now have a week to conclude their business before the window shuts on Tuesday, 1 September at 23:59. For Barcelona, the final stretch promises to be as busy as the months that preceded it.

The Blaugrana have already brought in Joao Cancelo, Rodri, Karim Adeyemi, Anthony Gordon and Jesse Bisiwu, but may not be done there. The club are continuing to be linked with a move for a striker and reportedly haven't yet given up hope of landing Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid — a pursuit that would rank among the most significant of their summer.
There are also expected to be some exits before next Tuesday's deadline. Alejandro Balde, Marc Casado and Hector Fort are three players expected to move on in the coming days as Barcelona look to balance the books and trim their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Business still to be done
With a week remaining, the Catalan giants face a delicate balancing act: add the attacking firepower that has long been on their wishlist while finding the right destinations for the players heading out of the door. The club's activity between now and 1 September will determine whether this window is remembered as a resounding success or an unfinished project.
