Ronald Araujo sends heartfelt farewell to Barcelona after completing Liverpool loan move
Araujo thanks the Culers after eight years at Camp Nou
Ronald Araujo completed his loan move to Liverpool on Monday and took time to send a heartfelt message to Barcelona fans, bringing an end to an eight-year association with the Catalan club.

The Uruguayan will spend the season at Anfield after leaving Barcelona, and he took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the club and its supporters.
“It’s time to face a new challenge. After 8 years, I take with me so many beautiful memories, lessons learned, and above all, so many people who were part of this journey. Always grateful, Culers!”
A popular figure in the dressing room
Araujo’s message drew a swift response from several Barcelona players, with Ferran Torres, Frenkie de Jong, Eric Garcia, Marc Bernal, Gerard Martín and Xavi Espart all reacting to the post — a sign of just how well-liked the defender was within the dressing room.
The tone of Araujo’s message has been widely interpreted as something of a farewell, with many suggesting the centre-back is hoping to stay at Anfield if Liverpool activate the buy option included in the loan deal.
Whatever happens next summer, the Uruguayan departs Barcelona having left a lasting impression both on the pitch and off it, and he heads to Merseyside with best wishes from the Camp Nou faithful.
