Anthony Gordon names Marc Bernal as most surprising teammate since Barcelona transfer

Barcelona winger Anthony Gordon has revealed the teammate who has impressed and surprised him the most since his high-profile summer switch to the Catalan giants: midfield starlet Marc Bernal.

Gordon departed Premier League outfit Newcastle United during the summer transfer window to make the move to La Liga. The 25-year-old Englishman has quickly adapted to life in Spain, slotting seamlessly into Hansi Flick’s tactical setup and proving to be an impactful addition in attack.

Speaking in an interview with Barcelona's official club media channels, Gordon reflected on his first few months in Catalunya and was asked to identify which player had caught him off guard the most in terms of technical ability and maturity during training sessions.

Without hesitation, the England international singled out La Masia graduate Marc Bernal, noting the youngster's exceptional quality and composure on the ball.

Bernal, who has continued to earn plaudits for his rapid development in the senior squad, clearly left an immediate impression on the new arrival as Barcelona push forward in their domestic and European campaigns.
