Lamine Yamal's brace of assists fuels Barcelona fightback at Galatasaray

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal conjured up a pair of nothing short of wonderful assists in the space of mere minutes on Tuesday evening, as Hansi Flick's troops drove home their advantage against Galatasaray in Istanbul.

The Blaugrana are currently locked in action on the continent, having made the trip to Istanbul for a League Phase clash in the Champions League. After falling into an early deficit, Barcelona have since turned the fixture on its head, courtesy of goals on the part of João Cancelo, Fermín López, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.

After enduring an uncharacteristically quiet first half, Lamine Yamal exploded into life on the other side of the interval. The 19-year-old first laid on Fermín López's go-ahead goal, courtesy of a sumptuous left-footed delivery, before returning to the attack just minutes later — making Galatasaray's pitch look like his personal playground before laying on a perfect pass for Anthony Gordon.

The teenage sensation has taken his electrifying recent form from matchdays to the European stage, following a run of eye-catching performances both for club and country. He previously sent a defiant message to his critics after starring in Spain's Nations League win over England on 27 September, underlining his status as one of the game's brightest young talents.

The two assists underline why Yamal is central to Flick's attacking plans as Barcelona look to make their mark in this season's Champions League. With the visitors in control at RAMS Park, the teenager's second-half spark has been the difference-maker in a stirring fightback.
