Barça track Dodô as right-back options are reviewed
Barcelona’s board is keeping a close eye on Fiorentina star Dodô amid alleged mutual interest in a move next summer.
The Spotify Camp Nou brass are understood to be scouring the market for potential reinforcements on the right ahead of 2026-27. With Jules Koundé having fallen out of favour, Eric García naturally a centre-back and João Cancelo considered more a left-back than right by Hansi Flick, Deco and co. are keen to add fresh blood to the defensive ranks in Catalunya’s capital for next season.
A shortlist of options has been drawn up with an emphasis on fit in Flick’s system and value on the market. One name to have come back to the fore behind the scenes at Barcelona over recent days is Dodô.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘In Italy they say that Dodó, from Fiorentina, has decided not to renew and will leave for free and would be studying the interest of Barça, Milan and Juventus for next season.’
The Blaugrana brass have long been monitoring the situation of the attack-minded Brazilian, who appears keen on the prospect of taking his talents to La Liga.
The report adds that interest is genuine but still at the monitoring stage, with Barcelona assessing Dodô’s contractual situation and how he fits tactically alongside existing defensive options.
