Gordon opens his Barcelona account

Anthony Gordon marked his first Barcelona goal with a memorable strike in the club’s 3-0 La Liga victory over Getafe at Spotify Camp Nou.

The England international, who earned a starting place after carrying his strong individual form through the international break, cut in from the left and worked past several defenders before his effort from the edge of the box took a deflection and found the net.

Teammates celebrate the milestone

Gordon’s goal drew messages of congratulations from fellow England internationals Morgan Rogers and Elliot Anderson. The strike capped a significant evening for the former Newcastle United forward, whose goal helped set Barcelona on their way to a comfortable win under Hansi Flick.
