Harry Kane scores twice as Bayern Munich are held to 3-3 draw at Viking

Kane brace rescues Bayern in Norway

Harry Kane scored twice as 10-man Bayern Munich were held to a dramatic 3-3 draw away at Viking in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Norwegian side stunned the Bundesliga giants by storming into a two-goal lead at half-time. Gianni Stensness headed in after only 71 seconds, and Peter Christiansen made it 2-0 before the break.

Bayern looked set to suffer a shock, but Kane took control. He scored a penalty in the 54th minute to make it 2-1, then levelled on the hour mark with a fine header.

Luis Diaz's tap-in appeared to have won it for the visitors. However, Michael Olise was sent off for a second yellow card minutes later, and substitute Herman Haugen rose to head a stunning equaliser at the far post.

Olise suspension looms

Olise's red card means he will miss Bayern's next Champions League fixture, a home tie against Premier League champions Arsenal next Wednesday.

Kane makes Champions League history

The brace moved Kane past Lionel Messi as the player with the most Champions League goals scored after turning 30. Kane has 36 in that age bracket, one more than Messi's 35. He is now level on 57 career Champions League goals with Thomas Müller, joint-eighth on the all-time list. Kane has scored in each of his last nine Champions League ties, netting 12 goals in that run.

Kane's tally comes as the 2026/27 league phase reaches Matchday 2.
