Kompany keeps Neuer fitness guessing as Bayern plan to "go all out" against Leipzig

Neuer fitness unclear ahead of Leipzig clash

Vincent Kompany has confirmed that Manuel Neuer's availability for Bayern Munich's meeting with RB Leipzig will go down to the wire. The goalkeeper did not train the previous day, and the Bayern coach was reluctant to speculate on the injury.

"Manu did not train yesterday. We have to wait and see. I don't want to take on the role of a doctor. It's the foot, not the thigh or shoulder. It won't take that long. Whether it's tomorrow or next week, we'll see. Otherwise, everyone else except Jamal Musiala is available," he said.

A busy schedule and a "process in place"

As his press conference continued, the Belgian explained how he plans to approach a crowded fixture list, which includes a game against Arsenal. Kompany said the club has a set routine for handling such periods.

"We have a process in place. We discuss things with the team or with individual players. It's important to put things behind us quickly. Now, it's about the next game. For us, these are the best moments you can experience in your career, when games like these are coming up."

He pointed to recent history to underline the intensity of the autumn schedule. "It's always the same during this period. Two years ago, we had Barcelona; last year, it was Arsenal and PSG. It's always in October and November that the intensity is very high. That's nothing new," Kompany explained.

Bayern vow to attack Leipzig on Saturday

On the Saturday topspiel itself, Kompany said his side "want to go all out" to defeat RB Leipzig. Bayern are playing at home and, in the coach's words, are hungry for the result.

"We're playing at home, and we're hungry. We know Leipzig's strengths. You can see that they've made a few changes, which have been good. They come into this game full of confidence. We've had 50 shots on goal in our last two games and done a lot of things well as a team."

Kompany acknowledged the visitors' form but insisted Bayern can reach their best level with a few adjustments. "If we improve a few things, we won't be far off our very best version. That gives us fire, and we know we can do it," he concluded.
