Barcelona Femení smash club record to sign Kerolin
Barcelona announced on Tuesday the arrival of Manchester City forward Kerolin, who has signed a four-year deal with Barça Femení in a club record transfer for the women's team.
The Brazilian winger joins on a four-year deal, and according to reports Barça signed Kerolin for €1.1 million, a figure that could rise to €1.5 million depending on performance bonuses. It represents the highest transfer fee for a Brazilian player in women's football history.
The winger had an excellent 18 months at Manchester City after spending three years in the United States, and arrives at Barça entering her prime at the age of 26.
Kerolin is a classic winger with great pace, dribbling and playmaking ability, and possesses a strong goal and assist record at every stop of her career to date.
Third signing of a busy summer
This is the third signing made by Barça Femení this summer, with young center-backs Martina Fernández and Renee Van Asten announced a couple of weeks ago.
Barcelona have lost some big names in this window with the departures of Mapi León, Ona Batlle, Salma Paralluelo and club legend Alexia Putellas, but have made some smart additions so far and will remain highly competitive next season.
