Kane hails 'difference maker' Gordon: Barcelona move has unleashed England star

England captain Harry Kane believes Anthony Gordon's summer transfer to Barcelona has transformed the forward, praising his international teammate as a “difference maker” after another decisive display for the Three Lions.

Gordon was on target in Tuesday's victory over Czechia, following up his goal against Spain at the weekend, and Kane reckons the switch to the Camp Nou in the summer window has given the winger a significant boost in belief.

“I think sometimes going to a big club like that gives you more self-belief, more confidence,” Kane told reporters. “You feel like you belong on the biggest stage and I think he’s taken that into his England performances.

“He was outstanding against Spain on Saturday, again today he was the difference maker. He was always looking to be direct and be the one to get us ahead and a great finish from him as well.

“A lovely ball by Trent, but those finishes aren’t easy and he took it really well.”

Gordon has now scored in each of his last three games for England and will aim to extend that run on Saturday night against Croatia in Rijeka, as the forward continues to justify the hype surrounding his Barcelona switch.
