‘I’d love it’ - Gavi hopes Julian Alvarez can fulfill his Barcelona ‘dream’
Barcelona Midfielder Backs Alvarez's Potential Move
Barcelona midfielder Gavi has publicly expressed his hope that Julian Alvarez will complete his transfer to the club, calling it the striker's 'dream' to join Camp Nou. The 21-year-old Argentina international has revealed he wants to leave Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed the club has made a formal offer for the player.
"I’d love it. He’ll see what he does with his future, but of course I’d love for him to be with us. Besides, it’s his dream," Gavi told Mundo Deportivo.
World Cup Clash with Cancelo on Horizon
Gavi will soon face Portugal's Joao Cancelo in the World Cup quarterfinals after an impressive loan spell with the Portuguese international at Barcelona. The two midfielders have not yet discussed their upcoming match, with both focused on representing their respective national teams.
"I don’t think he’ll talk to me until after the game, and I won’t talk to him either. We’re both focused on our country, our national team, and winning," Gavi added.
The winners of the Spain vs Portugal match will advance to face either USA or Belgium in the quarterfinals.
