"He is the clear winner": Declan Rice backs Harry Kane for Ballon d’Or after Arsenal-Bayern draw

Rice hails Kane after Champions League clash

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice backed fellow England international Harry Kane to win the Ballon d’Or on Monday, speaking after Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Rice told TNT Sports: “He is the clear winner. His numbers speak for themselves. The year he has had has been remarkable.”

“When you play with him, you realise how good he is, and when you play against him, you see how much of a pain it is,” Rice added. “He is ridiculous, such a good player, and I am lucky I can play with him, not so lucky I have to play against him.”

Kane’s Champions League scoring run

The comments came after Kane converted a 61st-minute penalty against Arsenal. The goal made him only the second player in Champions League history to score in 10 successive games, a run last achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored in 11 straight games between 2017 and 2018.

According to the report, this season Kane already has 10 goals and seven assists in 11 appearances across all competitions.
