Harry Kane credits Vincent Kompany for taking his Bayern game to another level
Kane hails Kompany’s influence at Bayern
Harry Kane says Vincent Kompany has elevated his game to another level as the England captain continues to produce remarkable numbers for Bayern Munich.
Kane has scored 102 goals in 102 matches across all competitions since Kompany took charge, helping Bayern win back-to-back Bundesliga titles. His overall record for the German champions stands at 146 goals in 147 appearances since joining from Tottenham in 2023.

“Since the boss has come in here, he's elevated my game to another level,” Kane told Henry Winter in an interview with FourFourTwo.
The striker credited Kompany’s attacking system, defensive structure and the freedom given to players to move into deeper positions before arriving in the penalty area.
“With the team I have around me, with the players I have, and the system that we play from the coach, it's just elevated me to another level.”
That approach has helped Kane feel more comfortable and instinctive on the pitch. “I know where I should be. I know where the players are going to be,” he said.
Bundesliga record in sight
Kane has scored 98 goals in 94 Bundesliga matches and is closing in on the competition’s record for reaching 100 goals. Dieter Muller currently holds that mark, having reached the milestone in 129 appearances.
Kane could also become the fastest player to score 100 league goals in any of Europe’s top five leagues outside LaLiga. Cristiano Ronaldo reached 100 league goals for Real Madrid in 92 matches.
The Bayern forward scored 61 goals in all competitions last season—19 more than any other player representing a club from Europe’s top five leagues. He now wants to sustain that level when the 2026-27 campaign arrives.
“That’s the aim. You know me, it's always to improve,” Kane said. “The goals are a consequence of loads of hard work behind the scenes, doing stuff every day when people aren't watching.”
Bayern begin their season on Saturday against Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.
