Arsenal come from behind to beat Leeds 2-1 as Calafiori and Guimaraes inspire Emirates comeback
Arsenal overturn Leeds lead at Emirates
Arsenal scored twice in eight minutes to come from behind and beat Leeds United 2-1 at Emirates Stadium, moving level with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
Leeds took the lead through James Justin in the 55th minute after pressure from Gabriel Gudmundsson, with David Raya having made four saves to deny the visitors before the opener.
The champions were given a lifeline by Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford. The England international failed to keep out Riccardo Calafiori's effort from inside the box seven minutes after Leeds' opener, with Ben White's delivery across the penalty area setting up the leveller.
Mikel Arteta made a triple substitution in response to the deficit and the move paid off immediately. Bruno Guimaraes came off the bench and scored five minutes later, finishing after Martin Odegaard's ball forward was brilliantly flicked by Declan Rice into his path on the edge of the box.
Noni Madueke started on the left wing in place of the injured Christos Tzolis and was involved in the build-up to Calafiori's equaliser. Kai Havertz started after picking up a hamstring injury on international duty, while Bukayo Saka caused problems early but missed a late chance to add a third.
Player ratings highlights
BBC Sport's player ratings reflected the impact of the changes. Bruno Guimaraes was rated 8 for coming on and scoring the winner, with Riccardo Calafiori on 7 after scoring the equaliser and trying to make things happen with adventurous runs.
Declan Rice received a 7 for injecting energy in the first half and providing the clever assist for Guimaraes. David Raya was rated 6 after a smart save to stop Jayden Bogle and a good stop to deny Gudmundsson, though the cross for the Leeds goal evaded him.
Martin Odegaard was rated 6 for trying to get on the ball, Bukayo Saka 6 for early threat and a missed late chance, and Kai Havertz 6 as he returned from injury but did not look at full match sharpness.
