Bayern rule Kim Min-jae out of Freiburg match as Danks shields recovering Kompany
Danks confirms another Bayern absence
Bayern Munich will be without Kim Min-jae for the weekend meeting with SC Freiburg after the defender picked up a minor strain, assistant coach Aaron Danks said. The club will not take risks with the injury, and Kim is expected to rejoin training next week.

Jamal Musiala is also unavailable. Danks said the midfielder is continuing his rehabilitation “step by step,” with Bayern hoping to have him back in the coming weeks.
Bayern staff will give Kompany time to recover
With head coach Vincent Kompany hospitalized, Danks described the situation ahead of Freiburg as difficult but said the coaching staff would take responsibility for the team’s preparations. He said Bayern would avoid drawing Kompany into football discussions while he focuses on recovering and spending time with his family.
“We're just allowing him his time to recover, be with the family, get himself better, get himself healthy,” Danks said.
Danks said the players’ strong mentality and the close-knit atmosphere within the squad would help Bayern through the situation. He added that the staff, including assistant René Marić, would work together on the game plan and opposition analysis.
Kimmich remains with his family
Danks also said Kimmich is spending time with his family following the death of his father. The midfielder will return to the team when he is ready, the assistant coach said.
