Harry Kane says new Bayern Munich contract is 'fairly close'
Harry Kane has revealed that a new contract with Bayern Munich is "fairly close" to being agreed, with the England captain keen to extend a stay that has delivered two straight Bundesliga titles and a DFB-Pokal trophy.
Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham in August 2023, is in talks over a reported two-year extension that would keep him at the club until June 2029. His current deal expires at the end of this season.
"We're in good talks. We're fairly close," Kane told The Independent. "There's still some things that we need to iron out. I'm happy there. I think it won't be too long before there's some sort of announcement."

Rewriting the record books
The renewal talks come on the back of a remarkable milestone. Kane netted his 100th and 101st Bundesliga goals in a 7-0 hammering of Union Berlin, reaching the 100-goal landmark in just 98 appearances — smashing the previous record of 129 games set by Dieter Muller.
Overall, the striker has scored 152 goals in 154 appearances for Bayern, including a whopping 64 in all competitions in 2025-26 alone, counting the Club World Cup.
'Getting the best out of me'
Bayern went into the international break second in the Bundesliga, behind Borussia Dortmund, as they chase a third straight title and remain among the favourites for the Champions League. Kane says he feels fully settled as he enters his 30s.
"I feel really comfortable in the team, with the coach, the environment," he said. "I want to just be at this level and push this level for as long as possible.
"Especially as you're getting a bit older, if you don't have a great season somewhere, or you don't play as well, the drop-off is maybe more than what it would have been when you're younger. So, it's just about extracting as much as I can, with the boss there, with the players I have in the team, I think they're getting the best out of me. I'm helping them as well."
