Real Madrid can re-sign Nico Paz from Como for €80m in 2027-28
Buy-back clause stays active after Champions League breakout
Nico Paz has underlined his value to Como with a scintillating display in the Serie A side’s 4-1 Champions League win over Manchester United, scoring two goals and providing one assist. The performance took his tally to four goals and five assists in 10 appearances across all competitions this season.
Paz is in his third season at Como after joining the club on a permanent deal from Real Madrid in the summer of 2024. Real Madrid had an option to re-sign the player for around €10m last summer, but agreed to let him stay in Italy for €60m.
2026 agreement and 2027 option
“Real Madrid C.F., Como 1907, and Nico Paz have reached an agreement for the player to remain at the Italian club for the 2026-2027 season,” Real Madrid said on June 29, 2026.
“This agreement, which has been made at the player’s own request, also provides that Real Madrid retains a unilateral buy-back option for Nico Paz’s federative rights for the 2027-2028 season.”
The La Liga giants have another option to re-sign Nico Paz next summer for €80m, and the Argentine formally remains under contract with Como until June 2028.
Another academy link at Como
Real Madrid also hold an option on another academy product playing at Como: centre-back Jacobo Ramon, who scored a goal against Manchester United on Wednesday. The Spaniard joined the Serie A side in 2025 for just €2.5m, but Real Madrid have an option to re-sign him in the future.
