Roma handed fitness boosts for Dybala, Kone and Svilar ahead of Manchester United Champions League tie
Roma fitness updates ahead of Old Trafford
Serie A side Roma travel to Manchester United next week for a huge Champions League fixture, and Gian Piero Gasperini is emerging with encouraging injury news from the Italian capital.
Corriere dello Sport report that Paulo Dybala has returned to full training and is expected to be on the bench for the tie against Cagliari. The Argentina forward could be fit enough to start against Manchester United, with La Joya seen as a key player by Gasperini.
The boost does not end there. Manu Kone can also return to action at Old Trafford. Il Messaggero – via AllRoma – notes the Frenchman has set that tie as his goal to return to full fitness, having picked up a muscle issue against Real Madrid.
Svilar progress
There are also good signs about Mile Svilar’s fitness. Gasperini was quizzed on the goalkeeper in his press conference today after an injury had forced Pierluigi Gollini in as the starting stopper for three games.
Gasperini said via SiamoLaRoma:
“Svilar, on the other hand, could make some progress this week, around Thursday or Friday.”
“He could therefore be fit for next week, but that remains to be seen. Let’s hope so, because having him available for the Manchester match would be ideal, or for the match against Sassuolo.”
The potential returns would ease a depleted-looking Roma squad ahead of the Champions League trip to Old Trafford.
