Kolo Muani’s late header earns Juventus a 1-1 draw at Cagliari

Kolo Muani rescues a point for Juventus

Randal Kolo Muani’s 81st-minute header secured Juventus a 1-1 draw away to Cagliari, cancelling out Daniel Maldini’s first-half opener and earning the visitors a share of the points at Unipol Domus.

Cagliari took the lead in the 20th minute. Maldini cut in from the right and his initial attempt was blocked by Bremer; after the ball ricocheted off Pierre Kalulu, Paul Mendy helped return it to Maldini, who finished past Guglielmo Vicario.

Juventus made changes at half-time, bringing on Kerim Alajbegovic and Edon Zhegrova. Zhegrova tested Elia Caprile repeatedly as the visitors raised the pressure, and their persistence paid off when Alajbegovic delivered a cross that Kolo Muani glanced into the bottom-right corner.

The scorer nearly completed a late turnaround, but headed another Alajbegovic delivery against the crossbar. Andrea Cambiaso also came close to a winner, only for Caprile to deny him from a tight angle.

Juventus create chances but leave with one point

Juventus had 22 attempts, including 10 on target, and registered an expected-goals figure of 1.92, compared with Cagliari’s 0.51 from four shots. Zhegrova was a major factor after the break, finishing with team highs of six attempts and five shots on target, as well as two successful dribbles.

Kolo Muani’s goal was his first in Serie A since May 2025, when he scored against Venezia. Despite the comeback, Juventus could not find a winner and had to settle for a draw.
