Serie A Clean Sweep as Napoli Edge Bodø/Glimt and Scott McTominay Scores Twice
Italy's perfect week
Serie A enjoyed a clean sweep of Champions League wins, with three of their clubs scoring four goals. Roma defeated Slovan Bratislava 4-0, and Como beat Manchester United 4-1. Only Inter let the side down, with a modest 1-0 defeat of Shakhtar Donetsk.
The game of the week, however, came in Naples, where Napoli beat Bodø/Glimt 4-3 for their first win of the group stage in a pulsating contest.
McTominay's emotional double
Scott McTominay scored twice – his first goals since a procedure on a benign heart arrhythmia – to power Napoli to victory. The midfielder was candid about where he stands in his recovery.
“I still need to find my best form, but I am not far away,” McTominay said.
His return to scoring on such a stage was one of the most heartening individual stories of the week and a reminder of the human stakes behind the results.
