Lamine Yamal mocks Pedri and Gavi's World Cup haircuts as strawberry and cream Chupa Chups
Yamal pokes fun at dyed hair of Pedri and Gavi after Spain's World Cup win
Lamine Yamal has poked fun at team-mates Pedri and Gavi after the two Barcelona stars kept promises made before the World Cup to dye their hair.
There’s been some banter flying about at Barcelona’s training ground. All three players were part of Spain’s successful World Cup 2026 winning squad and have since returned to Barcelona for pre-season.
Pre-World Cup promises fulfilled
Gavi promised to dye his hair pink if Spain were crowned champions in the USA, Mexico and Canada and kept his vow, returning to pre-season training with a very bright new look.
Pedri also took a trip to the barber’s before returning to training and opted to dye his hair white.
Yamal's Chupa Chups jibe
Yamal has now teased his two team-mates as the players came out for training and revealed what they remind him of. He was caught by the club’s media gesturing behind him and saying:
“Behind me, new strawberry and cream Chupa Chups. Look behind!”
While Pedri and Gavi have delivered on their pre-World Cup promises, Yamal is yet to do the same. The Barcelona teenager was asked before the tournament what he’d do if Spain win the World Cup and answered:
“I promise that if I win the World Cup I’ll grow my beard and moustache for three weeks.”
