Pogba ends Monaco stay a year early by mutual consent
Pogba leaves Monaco after limited impact in principality
Monaco and Paul Pogba have parted ways, with the French midfielder's contract ending a year earlier than planned by mutual consent.
Pogba joined Monaco last summer as a free agent following the expiration of a doping ban he was handed in 2024. The former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder was not fully fit on arrival and struggled for game time during his single season at the club.
Across all competitions he managed just six appearances, with only one start, totalling 115 minutes on the pitch.
Player reaction
Speaking after his departure, the 33-year-old said:
"I would like to thank the president and the management, my team-mates, all the staff members and every supporter who believed in me. Representing this club and the principality was an incredible experience."
Pogba added:
"Monaco is an incredible club and although I did not play as many games as I had hoped, I will always be grateful for the opportunity to wear their colours."
The Frenchman is now a free agent. Monaco finished seventh in Ligue 1 last season.
