Gavi backs Lamine Yamal to become all-time football great if progress continues

Barcelona midfielder Gavi has delivered glowing praise for his teammate Lamine Yamal, stating that the Spanish sensation possesses all the attributes required to become one of the greatest football players in history if he maintains his focus and hunger to improve.

Despite his rapid rise to global stardom and extensive trophy haul for both club and country, Gavi believes Yamal is still far from reaching his ultimate ceiling. Speaking in an interview with Men’s Health, Gavi highlighted how Yamal consistently stuns his teammates during daily sessions at the Ciutat Esportiva.

“He’s amazing. The guy is really good, and in training he surprises you even more,” Gavi said. “I just hope he keeps improving. He knows his potential; he could be one of the best of all time.”

While technical brilliance has set Yamal apart from his peers, Gavi stressed that the winger’s psychological maturity is the most crucial asset ensuring his long-term success amidst constant media attention.

“I see him as mentally sound, which is ultimately what matters,” Gavi explained. “He has things clear in his mind, and he still has a long career ahead of him. He has to keep going like this every day because, as I said before, the present is what counts. He’ll be under intense scrutiny every day.”
