Barcelona working to send Tommy Marqués to Braga to reunite with Pau Víctor

FC Barcelona's board have opened negotiations with Portuguese side SC Braga this week over a move that would send 19-year-old prospect Tommy Marqués out of Catalonia in search of senior football.

The youngster's future has taken a dramatic turn over the past few weeks. After early suggestions that the teenager was poised for a more prominent first-team role following the injury suffered by Frenkie de Jong, Barcelona's pursuit of Rodri brought Tommy firmly back down to earth.

Desperate for first-team minutes, the Spaniard is now giving serious thought to a departure from Barcelona before the summer window shuts. One destination has emerged in the media this week, courtesy of Spanish outlet Jijantes, who report:

'Tommy Marqués has a proposal from Sporting de Braga to continue his football career. Barça and the player's entourage are working to close the transfer to the team where Pau Victor also plays.'

Frontman Pau Víctor left Barcelona on a permanent basis last summer and has since enjoyed a thoroughly productive spell in Portugal's northwest. A move to Braga would therefore reunite the two former Barcelona youngsters at the same club.

For now, the deal remains in the working stages rather than complete, with both clubs and the player's representatives seeking to finalise the terms of a transfer that would offer Marqués the regular senior action he craves.
