Nico Paz vows to never forget Como's historic Champions League rout of Manchester United

Paz hails 'historic night' for Como

Nico Paz says he will never forget his display against Manchester United, a 4-1 Champions League win at the Stadio Sinigaglia on Wednesday night that earned him Football Italia's player of the match award.

Paz opened the scoring after two minutes, then provided the assist for Tasos Douvikas to make it 2-0. He later won the ball on the right flank and went alone to send Como 3-0 up just shy of the hour mark. Goals from Jacobo Ramon and Joshua Zirkzee completed the scoring.

'One of the most beautiful games of my career'

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the final whistle, Paz was emphatic about the significance of the result.

"That was one of the most beautiful games of my career, I'll never forget it. It's more than what I had dreamed of, we played an incredible game. We have to continue like this, but this was an historic night for everyone from Como."

He also stressed the mindset he wants the squad to keep.

"We have to carry on like this, not thinking about where we can go, but to take on every game as if it's our last."

A strike from instinct

Asked about his early opener, a precise strike that gave Como the lead, Paz was modest about the goal.

"I just saw the space and shot. I'm happy to experience nights like these in front of my family."
