Hansi Flick warns Barcelona against complacency ahead of Champions League test at Galatasaray

Flick prepares Barcelona for tough Champions League trip

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has warned his players against complacency ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League tie in Turkey against Galatasaray.

The Catalans arrive in Istanbul on the back of a perfect start to the season, winning all nine games so far, but Flick insists the Champions League demands a different approach.

“We’ll be playing against Galatasaray on Tuesday. We’ll be playing in the world’s loudest stadium. We need to prepare for that. This is the Champions League, it’s different. Every team in the Champions League is very good,” he told reporters.

“Galatasaray have a fantastic striker like Osimhen, they really have a great squad. We need to be ready for this match. We must play our best football against Galatasaray.”

Strongest XI expected after Getafe rotation

Flick is expected to play his strongest team possible for the match, according to Sport, which is another reason why Pau Cubarsi, Pedri and Fermin Lopez were given a breather against Getafe.

The report adds the coaching staff view the game as “one of the most complex outings of the entire group stage, at the same level of difficulty as the visit to PSG.”

Osimhen and Leroy Sane have been highlighted as two huge threats to Barcelona, while the players will also need to handle the ferocious atmosphere inside the stadium if they are to take home all three points.
