When Antoine Griezmann arrived in Orlando, the club was languishing near the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Griezmann has been at the center of everything Orlando do going forward, whether the goals are going in or not. His presence has elevated the players around him: 19-year-old academy product Justin Ellis, who thrives in half-spaces and loves to drift; target forward Daryl Dike; Croatia international winger Marco Pasalic; and 21-year-old Brazilian Tiago, who can operate through the center or out wide.

The statistical turnaround is staggering. Before Griezmann debuted, Orlando ranked 12th in expected goals and were tied for 12th in actual goals scored. Since his arrival, they have jumped to third in xG and tied for fourth in goals. The team previously sat 24th in chances created — they are now in the top 10 in MLS in possession, field tilt, and chances created.

That is the footprint of a genuine difference-maker, and Orlando are reaping the rewards.

Questions Remain, But Not About Griezmann

There are still legitimate questions surrounding Orlando's long-term outlook. Which pieces fit together best? Who will be the head coach on a permanent basis? Can the defense improve to a level worthy of a trophy contender?

But there are no questions about Griezmann. He has been worth every penny, and Orlando's revival is his signature.
