Kasimpasa Hold Trabzonspor to 1-1 Draw as Mohamed Salah Makes Super Lig Debut
Mohamed Salah made his official debut for Trabzonspor on Saturday, coming off the bench in a 1-1 draw against Kasimpasa in their Turkish Super Lig season opener.

The former Liverpool winger was introduced in the 58th minute at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadyumu, but his late efforts were not enough to secure all three points for Fatih Tekke's side after Adrian Benedyczak's second-half penalty cancelled out an earlier strike from Noah Saviolo.
Following a cagey opening half, Trabzonspor broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time when Saviolo connected with Metehan Mimaroglu's deep delivery to volley past the Kasimpasa goalkeeper at the near post.
However, the hosts responded just ten minutes into the second half. Wagner Pina conceded a spot-kick after tripping Guven Yalcin inside the penalty area, allowing Benedyczak to step up and slot the ball into the bottom-left corner past Andre Onana.
Salah was brought on three minutes later and almost had an immediate impact on proceedings. Shortly past the hour mark, the Egypt international delivered an enticing free-kick into the danger zone, but striker Paul Onuachu directed his header wide of the target.
Trabzonspor continued to push in the closing stages, with Mustafa Eskihellac seeing a stoppage-time effort blocked before Claudio Winck sent a long-range shot off target for the hosts.
Despite failing to register a goal or an assist in his 32-minute cameo, Salah impressed statistically, recording the highest expected goals (0.19) for Trabzonspor, creating two chances, completing three dribbles, and swinging in seven crosses.
Trabzonspor will now turn their focus to European action on Thursday, where Salah could make his full home debut in a Europa League qualifying clash against Ferencvaros, before returning to domestic action against Istanbul Basaksehir.
