Anthony Gordon admits PSG 'deserved it' after Barcelona's 4-2 Champions League defeat
Gordon concedes PSG were the better side
Anthony Gordon admitted he was not at his best on Tuesday night as Barcelona slumped to a 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The winger started the game but struggled to make much impact as an attacking force, and was beaten by Lucas Hernandez for PSG's second goal. Speaking afterwards, he told TNT Sports that the result was deserved.
"Ultimately, I didn't think my performance was great tonight. I've got a lot of individual work to do because on these nights, I really want to perform and I don't think tonight I was at my best.
I think they deserved it in the end. I feel like they were the better team. They had better moments with more quality and I feel like athletically they were able to sustain the pressure, the intensity for longer than we were."
A chaotic game and a fight back to the top
Gordon also spoke about the intensity of the match and how Barcelona must improve to match PSG going forward. Speaking to CBS Sports, he was candid about the level of the opposition.
"They're the best team in the world and have been for two years. We're also a top team and we've had a great start. It knocks us down a step but that's a good thing because it gives us that drive back again that we need to beat them, we need to become the team to beat.
It's exactly how it looks. It's chaotic. I was so tired in the first 10 minutes and got more and more tired as the game went on. But it's a great game, I prefer to play this style because I know it's exciting, there's more chances, it's a better game to watch but yes I'm extremely tired now."
Personal ambitions at Barcelona
Reflecting on his life at the club, Gordon was positive about his settling-in period but insisted he has more to give.
"Life in Barcelona has been great. I've had a good start. But I'm nowhere near where I want to be, I can do so much more. People haven't seen anywhere near the best of me and it's up to me to show them."
Gordon has been a key figure for Barcelona this season. Earlier in the campaign, he scored his first goal for the club in a 3-0 La Liga win over Getafe at Spotify Camp Nou, a result reported on 2026-10-13.
