Barcelona told Luis Suárez will cost €80m as Sporting refuse to sell striker
Sporting set €80m asking price for Barcelona target Luis Suárez
Barcelona have been informed that signing Luis Suárez from Sporting CP this summer would require a fee of €80 million, with the Portuguese club making clear that it has no plans to sell its leading striker.

The 28-year-old Colombian has emerged as a potential alternative for Barcelona amid continued frustration in the club’s pursuit of priority target Julián Alvarez. Sporting’s stance follows Suárez’s outstanding 2025/26 campaign, during which he recorded 47 direct goal contributions in 53 appearances.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Sporting regard Suárez as a key player and have been directing interested clubs to his release clause since June.
“Sporting make it clear that they have no plans to sell Luis Suárez this summer, seen as a key player. Sporting have been pointing to €80m release clause to every club interested this summer, since June.”
Barcelona must therefore decide whether to meet the substantial valuation or continue exploring alternatives as they search for a new striker.
