Bournemouth’s Old Trafford win puts Rose’s revival into gear
Hill says Bournemouth have found their rhythm after Old Trafford statement
James Hill believes Bournemouth’s difficult opening under Marco Rose is behind them after the Cherries extended their winning run to four matches with a 3-0 victory over Manchester United.
Rayan, Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson scored at Old Trafford on Sunday, while Bournemouth kept a clean sheet and moved up to 13th in the Premier League. United, by contrast, sat 16th after the defeat.

Bournemouth did not win any of their first six league games under Rose, but have since put together four consecutive victories across the Premier League and Europa League. Hill said the improvement had been coming: “We were unlucky at the start of the season, but things are starting to click under Marco and we have momentum now. It was only a matter of time.”
Hill described the performance as “really special”, praising the team’s discipline as well as its goals. “For us to come here and keep a clean sheet as well and score the three goals, credit to the whole team,” he said. He added that Bournemouth had focused on their own performance rather than United’s troubles and called the result a “good confidence builder”.
The win extended Bournemouth’s unbeaten Premier League run against United to seven games, with three victories and four draws. Only Chelsea and Liverpool have also recorded a seven-match unbeaten streak against the Manchester club in the competition. Bournemouth have scored 18 goals in 10 Premier League visits to Old Trafford, a goals-per-game rate of 1.8.
The Cherries next host Aston Villa in the EFL Cup fourth round on Wednesday, then welcome Leeds United in the Premier League three days later.
