Philadelphia Union stage sensational 4-3 comeback win at Sporting KC as Cavan Sullivan equals MLS record
KANSAS CITY — Cavan Sullivan continued his sensational rise in Major League Soccer, scoring his sixth goal in as many matches as the Philadelphia Union completed a stunning four-goal second-half comeback to defeat Sporting Kansas City 4-3 at Sporting Park.

A Stunner at Sporting Park
The hosts stormed out of the gates, racing to a 3-0 advantage within the opening 16 minutes courtesy of a brace from Andre Luiz and a strike by Wyatt Meyer. However, Philadelphia launched an electric fightback after the break.
Bruno Damiani sparked the turnaround in the 64th minute, converting Frankie Westfield's cross after a driving run from Cavan Sullivan. Just two minutes later, substitute Quinn Sullivan combined with Danley Jean Jacques to set up Cavan, who slotted a composed finish into the bottom-left corner to reduce the deficit to 3-2.
The Union were level in the 68th minute in spectacular fashion when Quinn Sullivan delivered a stylish rabona pass into Milan Iloski, who smashed home from a tight angle. The comeback was sealed in the 73rd minute when Sporting defender Zorhan Bassong diverted Kai Wagner's cross into his own net.
Sullivan Rewriting Record Books
Fresh off receiving a senior United States national team call-up, Cavan Sullivan has now amassed 19 regular-season goal involvements (seven goals, 12 assists) this campaign.
His 12 assists establish a new all-time record for a teenager in an MLS regular season, while his 19 total goal involvements match the previous teenage record set by Alphonso Davies during the 2018 campaign with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
The victory extends Philadelphia's unbeaten streak to 11 matches (eight wins, three draws) since returning from the World Cup break, marking five consecutive league victories—their longest winning run in MLS since 2022.
