Barcelona agree Rodri deal with Manchester City as Cancelo nears free transfer and Marqués exits to Braga

Barça edge towards Rodri capture in City agreement

Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle with Manchester City for midfielder Rodri, according to Mundo Deportivo. The written contracts are still pending, but the report states the Spain international will become a Barcelona player until 2030 in a matter of days, in a major coup for Hansi Flick's midfield.

Cancelo returns as a free agent

Separately, Portuguese full-back Cancelo has left Al Hilal after managing to break his contract with the Saudi club, with which he had one year remaining. He is expected in Barcelona on Tuesday to sign, arriving as a free agent and adding experienced cover at the back.

Marqués set for Braga exit

At the other end of the transfer ledger, midfielder Tommy Marqués has a new destination. According to The Athletic, Barça have reached an agreement in principle with SC Braga for his transfer worth 10 million euros, plus add-ons, clearing the path for the youngster to gain first-team football in Portugal.

Flick hints at further business

Despite the inbound and outbound movement, Flick suggested the window may not yet be closed. Asked about the market, the coach said: "Market? I think we need something more." He added: "We'll analyze this week and the training sessions as well, we'll see this week," leaving the door open for further reinforcements after the Basel friendly.
