Barcelona staff impressed by Anthony Gordon as new signing pushes for early role
Gordon makes strong early impression at Barcelona
Barcelona’s coaching staff have reportedly been impressed by Anthony Gordon’s first days with the club as preparations continue for the new La Liga season.
According to journalist Alex Pintanel, Gordon has arrived in strong physical condition and has adapted quickly to Hansi Flick’s training methods and the demands of working with his new teammates. The England international was given an extended break after his involvement at this summer’s World Cup, but has now begun settling into life in Barcelona.
“The technical staff and Flick are impressed with Gordon. Physically, he is very strong, he has arrived in very good shape and he has adapted very well to the work dynamic with his teammates,” Pintanel said.
Gordon’s chances of an immediate first-team role may have increased following Barcelona’s recent attacking departures. With Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres no longer part of the squad, the 25-year-old could be in contention for a prominent role when Barcelona open their La Liga campaign against Elche next weekend.
Although the club’s competitive season has yet to begin, Gordon’s early adaptation has already generated optimism inside the squad. His physical readiness and ability to integrate into Flick’s work dynamic could make him an important option from the opening fixture.
