Arsenal player ratings: Madueke earns 7 as Rice and Konsa impress in Forest win

Madueke the difference as Arsenal's ratings reflect a flat display

Arsenal's 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest was not a performance to remember, and the player ratings reflect that. Noni Madueke, who came off the bench at half-time, was the only player to earn a 7 from BBC Sport's rating, having scored the winner with a deflected effort.

Arsenal

David Raya was solid, with a good catch from a first-half corner. Ezri Konsa earned a 7 for his part in the back four and a brilliant injury-time tackle on Liam Delap. Declan Rice, rated 7, showed the powerful running expected of him and missed a big chance but played the pass that set up Madueke. Gabriel Magalhães was pressured but stood firm, rated 6.

Bruno Guimarães had a poor day and was replaced by Mikel Merino at 66 minutes, rated 5. Eberechi Eze, who was taken off at half-time, was given a 5 for failing to make the left wing his own. Kai Havertz was also rated 5 and was replaced by Viktor Gyökeres. Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, Ben White, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber were all rated 6.

Nottingham Forest

Matz Sels was untroubled as Arsenal struggled to create clear chances. Murillo was rated 6 after a head knock in the first half and came close to an injury-time leveller. Liam Delap was a nuisance to the Arsenal defence but failed to find a goal. Jair Cunha was unlucky when Madueke's shot deflected off him. Ibrahim Sangaré, who came on for Nicolas Dominguez, was rated 5.
