Barcelona join the race for Fulham teenager Josh King after two-goal start to the season
La Liga giants Barcelona have joined a host of Europe's elite clubs in pursuit of the signature of Fulham star Josh King, with the Blaugrana having earmarked the 19-year-old as a potential star in the making.

King is fresh off an impressive opening to the new campaign. After establishing himself as a regular contributor in Fulham's colours in 2025/26, the English youngster has seen his prominence reach a new level this time round. All told, King has featured from the off in all five of the Cottagers' Premier League fixtures, chipping in with a pair of goals from his attack-minded midfield berth.
And the teenager's efforts along the way have evidently not gone unnoticed in Spain. As per a report from Diario Sport, citing English outlet TEAMtalk:
"Fulham's 19-year-old footballer, Josh King, is in the orbit of Barcelona. The youngster's recent performances, with two goals in five games, have attracted attention in the Barça environment."
Barcelona, however, face stiff competition for the Fulham starlet's signature. All of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Atlético Madrid, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also credited with an interest in King's services, underlining just how highly the teenage midfielder's early-season form is being rated across the continent.
The interest comes as Barcelona continue to plan for the future of their squad. Prior reporting in late September noted that, off the pitch, speculation continues to swirl regarding future reshaping at the Camp Nou club, whose side had already made a historically prolific start to the season — 36 goals in just eight competitive matches, the best attacking start in Europe's top five leagues in nearly a century.
For now, King's focus will remain on Fulham, where his breakout form has made him one of the Premier League's most talked-about young talents — and, increasingly, one of the most pursued.
