Livaković’s agent expects just five to seven Barcelona starts this season
Livaković faces a limited role at Barcelona
Dominik Livaković’s agent expects the goalkeeper to have only a handful of opportunities at Barcelona during the 2026/27 season, with Joan García’s presence making it difficult to secure regular starts.
“He could play between five and seven games because it is very difficult (to overtake Joan),” representative Andy Bara said on the Inkubator podcast, in comments cited by Diario Sport.
Livaković joined Barcelona over the summer on a cut-price deal from Fenerbahçe, where he was under contract until 2027. Although a loan move had initially been expected, he remained in Hansi Flick’s squad. He made his first start for the club before the international break, stepping in ahead of Wojciech Szczęsny after García suffered a fitness setback.
Next season is the target
Bara said the move was intended to give Livaković time to prepare and challenge for the No. 1 position in the following campaign. “Livakovic signed for Barça to prepare for this year and fight for the starting spot next season and thus compete for the number 1 jersey with Joan García,” he said.
