KC Current unveil $10 grounds passes for record-breaking season finale against Washington Spirit

KC Current unveil $10 grounds passes for record-breaking season finale against Washington Spirit

The Kansas City Current are preparing for a big Sunday at CPKC Stadium, with the club hoping to turn its final regular-season home game into a record-setting occasion. Co-owned by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes, the NWSL side will welcome the Washington Spirit on October 25, 2026, and hopes to draw 18,000 fans across the stadium and nearby grounds.

Kansas City Current supporters celebrate at CPKC Stadium

Current target 18,000 fans for final home game

The Kansas City Current will host the Washington Spirit at 4 p.m. CDT on Sunday, October 25. The club wants to set a new franchise attendance record as it celebrates its third season at CPKC Stadium and looks ahead to the playoffs.

The matchday celebration, called "One Current 2026: Bigger Home. Bigger Future," will offer fans more than the action on the pitch. The event will include musical performances, food trucks, family activities and promotional giveaways, giving supporters several reasons to arrive early and stay after the final whistle.

The first 10,000 fans entering with stadium tickets or grounds passes will receive an exclusive KC Current flag. Meanwhile, the first 5,500 fans entering the stadium will get a Debinha bobblehead, marking the team's second bobblehead giveaway in its history.

The club is also introducing Current Landing grounds passes starting at $10. These passes give supporters access to food, beverages, activities and match viewing on several screens, including a giant LED screen near the stadium. The more affordable option could help bring additional supporters into the matchday atmosphere, even if they do not have regular stadium seats.

Mahomes family fuels club's growth

The game carries added significance for the club's ownership group, which includes Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes. Brittany helped bring the NWSL franchise to Kansas City alongside Angie and Chris Long. Patrick joined the ownership group in 2023, becoming the first active NFL player to hold an ownership stake in an NWSL team. Their involvement gives the club a connection to one of Kansas City's most recognised sporting families. Brittany also brings experience as a former soccer player and a long-standing interest in developing women's sports.

For the Mahomes partnership, the October 25 fixture reflects a wider ambition to grow women's soccer and build a strong connection with Kansas City supporters — a story that, as prior coverage noted on 2026-09-21, began years before Patrick's Super Bowl success, when the couple built parallel sporting identities.

A double-header for Kansas City

The Current's final home game will also give fans a chance to enjoy another Kansas City sporting event. After the match, Current Landing will host a watch party featuring the Chiefs' game against the Seattle Seahawks, scheduled to begin at 7:20 p.m. CDT. With a possible attendance record, special giveaways and a second major sporting event on the same evening, the Current are hoping to make October 25 a memorable day for Kansas City fans.
