Milan Move to Beat Arsenal and Barcelona to Brugge Hat-Trick Hero Nicolò Tresoldi

Milan are hoping Nicolò Tresoldi's lifelong affection for the club can help them win the race for the Club Brugge striker, with a host of European giants circling the 22-year-old following his Champions League heroics at San Siro.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Calciomercato.com, RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale is determined to bring Tresoldi to San Siro, either in January or next summer. The Milan owner has told the club's recruitment staff to stay in close contact with the player's camp, with the Pink Paper reporting that €53m is available in the club's accounts for transfers.

Tresoldi, a boyhood Milan supporter, scored a hat-trick against Inter at San Siro in Tuesday's 4-3 Champions League win, a performance that has firmly placed him on the Rossoneri's radar. Milan have received several positive reports about the player, and Cardinale wants to remain informed on any transfer developments surrounding him.

Fierce competition for the striker

Milan will not have a clear run at the forward. Arsenal, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, Tottenham and Inter are all tracking a player valued at more than €50m. He has scored 32 goals in 69 games for Brugge and is under contract until June 2029, and the Belgian side rejected a €35m bid from Roma in August.

Milan believe their relationship with Brugge, who sold them Ardon Jashari in 2025, could give them an edge in negotiations. Tresoldi's father, Emanuele, a former Atalanta full-back, has admitted that the family's Milan allegiance matters — a factor the Rossoneri hope can swing things in their favour, though the final outcome could still come down to the money on offer.

International future still undecided

Tresoldi has yet to choose between representing Italy and Germany at senior level. He has scored 16 goals in 27 games for Germany's Under-21s and last week helped them qualify for the 2027 European Championship, adding another layer of intrigue to a player whose club future is now the subject of a multi-club chase.
