Lamine Yamal pays tribute to Thierry Henry with corner-flag celebration after Nations League double
Barcelona star copies club legend's signature pose after firing Spain past Croatia
Lamine Yamal has revealed the thinking behind his eye-catching goal celebration for Spain, confirming he deliberately channelled Barcelona legend Thierry Henry after scoring twice against Croatia in the Nations League.
The Barcelona teenager was on target twice in the encounter and marked his goals by posing with the corner flag — a celebration Henry made his own during his illustrious career at the top level.

Asked about the tribute after the match, Yamal made his admiration for the Frenchman clear.
“I like it, I like it a lot. In the end Henry is a reference, he has that legendary celebration and I wanted to do it,” Yamal said.
Historic display for La Roja
The 16-year-old has been enjoying himself during the international break, opening the scoring inside the first two minutes against England at the weekend before producing another decisive contribution versus Croatia.
His performance also etched his name into the record books, with Yamal becoming the youngest player ever to score twice and provide an assist in the same game for Spain.
What's next for Spain
Spain face Czechia on Saturday night before a rematch with Croatia next week in the same competition, with Yamal expected to be central to Luis de la Fuente's plans once again.
