IPL 2026 to feature 84 matches, with final set for Bengaluru on May 31

IPL’s 19th season set for an 84-match run

The 2026 Indian Premier League is scheduled to span 84 matches, with the league phase running from March 28 into late May. The expanded schedule moves the tournament closer to the 94-match format it is targeting by 2028, while keeping the traditional home-and-away structure as its foundation.

The playoffs are due to begin on May 26, with Qualifier 1, the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 leading into the final on May 31 at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Several teams will use alternate home venues

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to play five matches in Bengaluru and two in Raipur, which will serve as a second home venue. Delhi Capitals will divide fixtures between the Arun Jaitley Stadium and Vizag, while Punjab Kings are scheduled to move into the New Chandigarh Stadium.

The schedule page says it will track the points table and provide season updates, including injury news and analysis, as the competition progresses.
