SPFL Hopes to Bring Back Away Fans for Celtic v Rangers 'As Soon As Possible', Says Neil Doncaster

Move to restore away supporters at Old Firm derbies

The Scottish Professional Football League hopes to reintroduce away fans to matches between Celtic and Rangers "as soon as possible", according to chief executive Neil Doncaster.

The National reports Doncaster's comments, which signal a desire to restore travelling supporters to the fixture.

Why it matters

The Old Firm derby is one of world football's most intense fixtures, and the return of away allocations would mark a notable shift in how the match is staged.
