Haaland completes Premier League set as Lampard's 39-team scoring record stands tall

Erling Haaland has become only the second player in Premier League history to have scored against every league opponent he has played against.

The Manchester City striker reached the milestone with his second-half goal in City's 5-3 win over Sunderland, meaning the Norwegian has now scored against all 25 opponents he has faced since arriving in the English top flight.

Haaland could extend the remarkable run to 26 teams this season, should he find the net against Hull City.

The only other Premier League player in history to have scored against every club they have faced is England captain Harry Kane, who netted against all 32 clubs he played against during his time in the competition. Yet remarkably, neither Haaland nor Kane ranks in the top 10 for the highest number of different opponents scored against in the competition.

Lampard's record remains untouchable

That honour goes to current Coventry manager Frank Lampard, whose 178 Premier League goals between 1997 and 2015 came against 39 different opponents — a total that still stands clear at the top of the list.

Former Manchester United striker Andrew Cole is second with 38 teams, while ex-England duo Alan Shearer and Jermain Defoe each managed to net against 37 different clubs. Wayne Rooney and Teddy Sheringham rank fifth and sixth with 36 and 35 respectively.

Completing the top 11 are Thierry Henry, Michael Owen, Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard and Ryan Giggs, who all scored against 34 different Premier League opponents apiece.
