Prabhas unveils 'Romeo Juliet' story reveal teaser ahead of October 23, 2026 theatrical release

Prabhas gives 'Romeo Juliet' a major push with story reveal teaser

Actors Harshith and Vishakha Dhiman headline the upcoming Telugu romance drama Romeo Juliet, directed by Bhargav Macherla. The film has received a promotional boost from Prabhas, who unveiled its "story reveal" teaser on social media and wished the team luck ahead of its theatrical release.

What the teaser reveals

The two-minute "story reveal" teaser opens on an intriguing note, with Harshith's character meeting a local gun dealer and attempting to buy a weapon. He appears frustrated and angry and seemingly intends to use the gun against a girl, although the teaser deliberately avoids revealing the circumstances behind his actions.

The glimpse then shifts towards the film's larger themes, hinting at a story centred on contemporary relationships and the complexities of young love. Rather than presenting a conventional romance, the teaser suggests a more unusual narrative built around conflict and emotional turmoil.

The makers have kept the central plot largely under wraps, choosing to reveal only enough of the story to generate curiosity ahead of the theatrical release.

Release date and cast

Romeo Juliet is scheduled to arrive in theatres on October 23, 2026, which coincides with Prabhas' birthday.

Harshith plays the male lead, marking his second outing as a lead actor. He recently received attention for his performance in Deewana and has also appeared in the web series Subham. Vishakha Dhiman stars opposite him as the female lead.

The supporting cast includes Viva Harsha, Siri Hanmanth, Prasad Behara, Prabhas Sreenu, Ajay Ghosh and Ajay.

Technical team

Bhargav Macherla and Prashanth Raghati have worked on the story of Romeo Juliet. Gopi Sundar is composing the music, while Abhiraj Nair is the cinematographer and Yuva Kiran is handling the editing. Bhargav Macherla is directing the film, which is being positioned as a romance drama with an unconventional premise.

Prabhas' upcoming projects

Meanwhile, Prabhas has several major projects lined up. He will next be seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's action thriller Spirit, scheduled for release on March 5, 2027. The actor is also set to headline Hanu Raghavapudi's Fauzi. His upcoming slate further includes the highly anticipated sequels Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2 and Salaar: Part 2.
