Northamptonshire tie down T20 Blast winner Gus Miller with contract extension until 2027

Northamptonshire have tied down all-rounder Gus Miller after the 24-year-old signed a one-year contract extension to remain with the county until the end of 2027.

Academy graduate going from strength to strength

Miller, a graduate of the club's academy, made his debut for Northants in a tour match against India in 2022 and has since gone on to feature 36 times across all formats for the Steelbacks.

The 24-year-old was part of the side that won this year's T20 Blast and opened the batting with Ricardo Vasconcelos in the One-Day Cup, where he ended the 2026 campaign as Northamptonshire's third-highest run-scorer with 212 runs.

'A privilege to be part of such a special group'

"It's a privilege to be part of such a special group like this," Miller told the club's website. "I'm looking forward to keep improving and keep pushing my case to play more and more first-team cricket."

Lehmann delighted to secure Miller's future

Head coach Darren Lehmann said the club were thrilled to extend the deal. "We're very pleased to have Gus with us for at least another year," said Lehmann. "He's a wonderful character to have around the changing room, and he's put in some good performances this year, so we're hoping to see him build on that going into next season."
