Grand premiere marks start of season 8

Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 kicked off with a grand premiere as host Superstar Mohanlal welcomed 21 contestants from different walks of life to the house. From controversy stars to content creators, the season is set to make waves in Malayalam television’s biggest reality show.

Confirmed contestants

The confirmed line-up includes acting aspirant and former RJ Aishwarya, who quit her aviation job to contest and is known for her Malappuram slang and Gen Z vibe. Mollywood face Gayathri Suresh, Miss Kerala pageant winner and debutant with Jamna Pyaari, also enters the house after facing cyberbullying for her statements.

Social media influencer Muhammed Azif, popularly known as ‘Azifee’, brings Gen Z aura with 1 million Instagram followers and around 8 lakh YouTube subscribers for his Malayalam comedy, reaction and live streaming content.

Agnipareeksha winners feature prominently. Dancer and content creator Shijin entered after winning Agnipareeksha, making a comeback after early criticism from judges. Student pilot Loletta won over viewers with sporting spirit and charm in Agnipareeksha. Social worker and businessman Eldho from Kochi impressed with confidence, determination and physical strength despite accusations of being fake. Carpenter-model-dancer Rakesh from Fort Kochi, who has shared screen with actor Suriya in Retro, also makes his entry.

Actress and former journalist Rini Ann, who made headlines with revelations about Rahul Mamkoottathil, is confirmed. Television familiar Jaseela, known as gym freak and Star Magic fame for her role Saniya in Anuraga Ganam Pole, returns to reality TV.

Social media influencer Vighnesh Venu, known for reaction videos and a 1M Instagram following, and fight master professional actor-dancer-bike rider Kaali are in the mix. Television actress Mridhula Vijai, known for Krishna Thulasi and Ishtam Mathram and appearances on Star Magic and Suryajodi, also joins.

Vlogger Sreeraj of YouTube channel Kadal Komban, which documents fishing community lives, actor-comedian Sumesh Chandran known for Drishyam 2 antagonist turn, actor-model Noby Binu, stand-up comedian Goutham Sasi of Oru Chiri Iru Chiri Bumper Chiri, and RJ-turned-actress Anjali, teacher-feminist activist known for controversies over prank calls and gender equality stands, complete the announced names.
