Pacer Harshit Rana has suffered an injury setback after sustaining a rectus femoris strain while bowling during a match simulation. The fresh injury, sustained during his rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence (CoE), has ruled him out of upcoming competitive action.

The medical assessment confirmed that Rana picked up the strain in his thigh during bowling drills, forcing him onto the sidelines for both multi-day and limited-overs matches. Meanwhile, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is making steady progress in his recovery and is expected to rejoin the squad in the near future.

The blow to Rana disrupts his schedule after he had been working closely with medical and conditioning staff at the CoE to achieve full match fitness.
